Iowa Telecom Internet Settings

Click the Apple in the upper left hand corner, go to Control Panels, and choose TCP/IP.

"Connect Via" should say "PPP".

Under "Setup" the "Configure" box should say "Using PPP Server".

"IP Address", "Subnet Mask", and "Router address" should all say "will be supplied by server".

The two boxes below, "Name server addr" and "Search domains" should both remain blank.

Close the window and save the preferences if asked.

Click the Apple in the upper left hand corner, go to Control Panels, and choose Remote Access.

In Remote Access, put the dot in "Registered User".

In "Name" put your IowaTelecom.net username. This will be your IowaTelecom.net e-mail address (ie. its@iowatelecom.net). Type your password in the "Password" box. This will be provided to you on your account information sheet. You may put a check mark next to "Save Password" if you want your computer to remember your password for you.

In the "Number" box, type the 7-digit, local dial-up number provided to you by Iowa Telecom.

Click Connect and you are online!

Change Your Dial-up Number

Click the Apple in the upper left hand corner, go to Control Panels, and choose Remote Access.

In Remote Access, put the dot in "Registered User".

In "Name" put your IowaTelecom.net username. This will be your IowaTelecom.net e-mail address (ie. its@iowatelecom.net). Type your password in the "Password" box. This will be provided to you on your account information sheet. You may put a check mark next to "Save Password" if you want your computer to remember your password for you.

In the "Number" box, type the 7-digit, local dial-up number provided to you by Iowa Telecom.

Click Connect and you are online!

DSL Setup

Click the Apple in the upper left hand corner, go to "Control Panels", and choose "TCP/IP".

"Connect Via" should say "Ethernet".

Under "Setup" the "Configure" box should say "Using DHCP Server".

"IP Address", "Subnet mask", and "Router address" should all say "Will be supplied by server".

The two boxes below, "Name server addr" and "Search domains" should both remain blank.

Close the window and save the preferences if asked. You should be ready to go online!
